(Hillsboro) A lot of questions have been raised concerning “use of force” by law enforcement in terms of how it’s applied and how often it’s needed depending on the situation. Jefferson County Sheriff Dave Marshak says the use of force encounters don’t happen as often as the public might think.

Sheriff Marshak gave some numbers from his department concerning “use of force”.

Sheriff Marshak says his department does not use “choke holds”, that is only used a last resort tactic during a physical encounter.
