Sheriff Marshak weighs in on arming teachers

(Hillsboro) Mass shootings continue to be a major topic of concern across the entire country. Shootings have taken place in both workplaces and schools over the past few years including a shooting at a St. Louis area school just last year. There have been discussions of allowing school teachers to be armed to help protect students and other faculty members. Jefferson County Sheriff Dave Marshak sees the benefits of having school teachers carrying or having access to firearms.

Sheriff Marshak says having police officers at every school building is a good idea, however, but the expense of that would be rather high.

Sheriff Marshak spoke on this topic during “Where Do You Stand Jefferson County” this past Friday morning on KJFF.
