Sheriff’s office investigating cases of stolen vehicles in Jefferson County

(Jefferson County) You can change the calendar and even the year but despite the difference the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office continues to deal with a number of stolen vehicle cases with some of the cases involving the victim leaving their vehicle unlocked with the keys inside.

Sheriff’s office spokesman Grant Bissell says once such incident happened sometime overnight between January 14th and 15th in the 2800 block of Clay Street near De Soto.

Sheriff’s deputies notified the victim that the vehicle had been recovered. Authorities will process the vehicle for further investigation before returning it to the owner.

In a separate case, a pickup truck was recovered by deputies after being taken from Northwest Towing in Dittmer.

The vehicle was eventually recovered by a sheriff’s deputy on January 19th at Corisande Hill Road and old 141 near Fenton.

The vehicle will be processed before being given back to Northwest Towing.
