Shooting in Council Bluff Lake Area of Iron County

(Council Bluff Lake) The Iron County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a shooting that happened Saturday on the western side of the county.

According to a Facebook post from the sheriff’s department, the incident took place around Highway 32 and ‘D-D’ Highway which is located near Council Bluff Lake.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they found a 28-year-old man shot in the stomach by a small caliber handgun.

The victim was taken to a St. Louis area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies also found a 28-year-old woman on the scene, where she received facial injuries during a physical altercation with the victim prior to the shooting.

So far, the Iron County Sheriff’s Department did not indicate if either of the two have been arrested. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
