South Iron Volleyball Looks to Build off Last Year’s Success in 2020

(Annapolis) The South Iron volleyball team is coming off one of its best seasons in the program’s history, going 22-8-1 last year.

Panthers’ head coach Adriann D’Amico says a successful 2019 season has the team motivated to accomplish even more in 2020.

Last year’s success was certainly a boost for South Iron volleyball, but D’Amico says it is pivotal to continue that positive trajectory.

South Iron graduated a pair of talented seniors from last year’s team in Michaela Ayers and Callie Miller.

However, the Panthers return three Black River League All-Conference players in junior Megan Lashley and sophomores Madison Ayers and Drew Gayle.

This year’s team will have plenty of talent and D’Amico says they love to get after it.

There are clearly more questions than answers heading into the 2020 fall sports season.

D’Amico says regardless of the uncertainty, success for South Iron will be if the team competes hard every night and gives themselves a chance to win every game.

The Panthers begin the 2020 volleyball season on Friday when they head out on the road to take on the Zalma Bulldogs.
