(FESTUS) The St. Pius softball Lancers are playing one final tune-up game before the Class 2 District 2 tournament begins later this week. The Lancers will either be 12-7 or 13-6 heading into districts after facing Bishop DuBourg today at 4:30 p.m. The Lancers will be the 2-seed and face the winner of Jefferson and Saxony Lutheran on Thursday.

Head Coach Kevin Halley says that there are a couple of teams in the tournament that can bite you if you don’t play well enough.

Speaking of the offense, Coach Halley has had great offensive production all season from the Flanagan sisters, AJ Agers, and Tori Arriaga.

The Flanagan sisters have combined for three home runs, 21 RBI’s, and 42 runs scored. Agers leads the team in batting average at a .533 clip. Arriaga leads the Lancers in home runs and RBI’s with 4 and 30, respectively.

St. Pius will play Thursday afternoon at 2 against the winner of Jefferson and Saxony Lutheran who play on Wednesday afternoon at 2. The Class 2 District 2 tournament will have all of its games played at Kelly High School and will wrap up on Friday.
