St. Pius starts over in baseball, but has exciting fresh faces

(Festus) The St. Pius Lancers boasted a dominant baseball team in 2019.

But things will look much different when they take the field this season.

The year off because of the pandemic means most of the talent from the 17-3 squad is gone, and there is a new head coach in Dan Oliver.

But the Lancers’s new head man believes they are making progress in the preseason.

2 players back for St. Pius with plenty of experience are seniors Zander Parson and Chase Marnin.

Oliver says their example is crucial for younger talent to learn from.

At the end of the day, Oliver says his message to the team is to take things one day at a time.

After opening at the Black & Red Kickoff Classic this weekend, St. Pius will host Potosi on Monday.
