St. Pius takes on Herculaneum in baseball on KJFF

For the first time in 2 years, high school baseball is back in Jefferson County.

The St. Pius Lancers visit the Herculaneum Blackcats Tuesday on KJFF in an early-season showdown.

St. Pius has split its first 4 games, riding the pitching of junior Tate Ramey and the bats of Ramey and juniors Nathan Stoll and Michael Argana.

But Lancers head coach Dan Oliver believes his team can do a better job of scoring when the chance is provided.

Herculaneum has gotten a strong start at the plate from senior Cole Myers and on the mound from sophomore Dylan Black, but the Blackcats have scored just 4 total runs in a 1-3 start.

Head coach Ryan Dickerman believes his lineup needs to perform better in 2-strike counts.

The Lancers have won the last 7 meetings with the Blackcats.

St. Pius faces Herculaneum again in Jefferson County Baseball Tuesday afternoon.

Pregame coverage starts at 3:45 on AM 1400 KJFF.
