Ste. Genevieve Football Stuns Jefferson 49-7
The Ste. Genevieve Dragons football team picked up their first win in two weeks with a blowout of the previously undefeated Jefferson Blue Jays. The Dragons exploded on the ground on their first offensive play resulting in points.

Ste. Genevieve would score five more times on offense, and picked up a big special teams play going into halftime.

The Dragons would carry a 49 point lead into the half, with the bulk of their points coming from the running backs. They rushed for over 300 yards in the first half and pulled most of the starters for the second half.
The Blue Jay starters played the bulk of the second half and scored a touchdown in the final seconds.

Jefferson coach Matt Atley explains why his starters finished the game.

Dragons coach Jay Pope praised his offense after the game.

Ste. Genevieve is now 5-3 on the year, with an upcoming trip to Kelly in Week 9. The Blue Jays are now 7-1 and will finish the regular season in Perryville, as they face St. Vincent for the I-55 Conference Championship. We’ll broadcast that game on J-98 on Friday night.
