(STE. GENEVIEVE) The Ste. Genevieve Dragons edged out the De Soto Dragons at home on Friday night by a final score of 14-0 over the course of a rainy contest.

The battle of the Dragons was a defensive stalemate for the majority of the first half. That was until Ste. Gen came up with a massive interception from senior defensive back Brady Boyer.

Starting the drive with a short field from the 18 yard line late in the 2nd quarter, Ste. Gen punched it into the endzone thanks to sophomore running back Darien Brown.

An extra point put St. Genevieve on top of De Soto 7-0 heading into the locker room.St. Genevieve emerged from the break with the same energy, and used a little bit of trickery on fourth down and goal to make it a two score game in the 3rd quarter.

Neither team scored in the final frame, and Ste. Genevieve emerged with a 14-0 victory against De Soto.
On the winning sideline, Ste. Gen head coach Ken Weik was complimentary of De Soto but thought his players rose to the challenge.

For the visiting De Soto, head coach Chris Johnson thought his defense showed flashes at times, but overall it was a poor effort.

Ste. Genevieve improved their record to 6-2 with the victory, while De Soto fell to 4-4 in defeat.
