Steelville Welcomes Floaters & Campers if They Follow Pandemic Guidelines

(Steelville) Floating and camping season is underway on the Meramec River, along with the Huzzah Creek and Courtois Creek in Crawford County near Steelville.

This is a big destination each year for outdoor enthusiasts when the temperatures are warm.

With the pandemic continuing, we asked Steelville Mayor Mike Keen if it’s O.K. to visit their town and if outfitters have put some safety restrictions in place.

Besides Huzzah Valley Resort and The Rafting Company, floating and camping near Steelville is offered at Garrison’s River Resort, Indian Springs Family Resort, Lucky Clover Resort, Greene’s Canoe Rental, Brown Canoe Rental and Bass River Resort.

You should call these resorts ahead of time to make sure they are open and what kind of safety regulations they have put in place because of the pandemic.
