This Is Breastfeeding Awareness Month

(Park Hills) August is National Breastfeeding Month. Courtney Roth is a breastfeeding peer counselor at the St. Francois County Health Center in Park Hills. She says COVID-19 has made their job a little more difficult.

Roth says science has also revealed that breastfeeding can actually help protect you from COVID.

Roth says breastfeeding your baby is also beneficial to mothers. It lowers you risk of developing some types of breast cancer and makes you less likely to develop heart disease or suffer a stroke. Hear more with Roth below.
