Three Young Men Have Died Within A Week At The Prison In Bonne Terre

(Bonne Terre) Two more inmates from the Bonne Terre prison have died.

That makes three inmate deaths at that correctional center in seven days.

All three were young men, ranging in age from 28 to 38.

The latest happened Monday.

A news release from the Missouri Department of Corrections says it was 38-year-old Antonio Jackson.

He was serving 20-years for first degree robbery, armed criminal action and kidnapping from Jackson County.

Jackson was first sent to prison in May of 2014.

Another inmate death happened Friday.

Kyle Johnson was 30-years-old.

He was serving 12 years for first degree assault and/or attempt on law enforcement from St. Louis city.

Johnson was first sent to prison in March of 2013.

Last Monday, an Iron County man, 28-year-old Melton Spencer of Belleview also died while being housed in the Bonne Terre prison.

The Department of Corrections says autopsies are being conducted for all three individuals to determine their exact cause of death.

Unfortunately, prison officials in Missouri do not send media information on the reason an inmate died after an autopsy is performed.
