Tracey Perry Hopes To Continue To Be Jefferson County Public Administrator

(HILLSBORO) Tracey Perry is seeking to stay in office as the Jefferson County Public Administrator. Perry was appointed to the position last year to fill the remaining term after the retirement of Steve Farmer. Perry says it’s been a great transition thus far, and she hopes it continues for another term.

The Public Administrator’s Office is responsible for each person, or Ward….whose oversight is entrusted to their office by the probate court through an appointment process. The office makes decisions for those persons with educational and habilitation plans, finances, general health and safety, medical consents, and placement. Some of those wards that they oversee are persons who are elderly with no family to help them with decisions, people of all ages who suffer from debilitating mental illness, minors with estates that must be managed by someone other than a parent, and incapacitated people whose potential guardians or conservators are involved in disputes.

Perry will seek the Republican nomination during the August primary election. As of this week, no one has filed to run against Perry.
