Two Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies awarded medal of valor

(Hillsboro) Two Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies were recently awarded the Medal of Valor. Deputies Kyle Kolinski and Justin Faulkner were recognized from a traffic pursuit that took place a little over a year ago which spilled over into Illinois before the incident was halted. Major Gary Higginbotham says it was a great honor for those two hard-working members of the department.

Also, Deputy Zach Faulkner was injured after being hit by a ricochet bullet in a separate incident earlier this year. Major Higginbotham says Deputy Faulkner is recovering well.

Deputy Faulkner is still performing light duties with the Sheriff’s Office but hopes to return to full-time duty soon.
