Valle Catholic Wins at Home Over Festus, 20-6
(STE. GENEVIEVE)    The Valle Warriors used two rushing touchdowns from Alex Viox and an 80 yard kick return from Collin Henderson to beat the Festus Tigers 20-6 Friday night.  The game was heard on J-98 “The Boot”, KJFF 1400AM and mymoinfo.com.
The Warriors Alex scored on a five yard run with 7:12 to play in the first quarter.  It was a nine play, 72 yard drive.

The kick was good and Valle led 7-0.
At 4:26 left in the 1st, Festus scored a touchdown when the ball was stripped away from a Warrior ball carrier.  But on the way to the endzone, the Festus player was flagged for an unsportsmanslike penalty and the touchdown was disallowed.  The Tigers were stopped on that possession.
With 7:18 on the clock in the second quarter, penalties hurt Festus again. They jumped offside on a third and one and then Alex Viox took advantage on the very next play.

The extra point failed, leaving the score 13-0 at the half.
Neither team could find the endzone in the third quarter but Festus scored on a  carry by quarterback Essien Smith at the 10:24 mark in the 4th.

The conversion failed and the Warrior’s lead was reduced to 13-6.
However,  12 seconds later, Valle’s Collin Henderson ran back the kickoff for 80 yeards for the T-D.  The kick was good and the Warriors were able to hold onto that 20-6 lead for the victory.

Warrior head coach Judd Naeger says after the loss to Seckman, it was just a rough week of practice.

According to Naeger, the Warrior game plan was to put the clamps on Festus Tiger wide receiver and running back, Number 3 Landen Yates.

Festus Tigers head coach A.J. O’Fodile says the Tigers made too many mistakes.

In the postgame interview we asked O’Fodile if practice would be different this week.

Both Valle and Festus are now 1-1 on the young season.  Next Friday Festus will host Windsor, the game will be broadcast on KJFF 1400AM and mymoinfo.com
Valle will host Fredericktown.
