West County Girls Basketball Topples Arcadia Valley For District Title

(Frankclay) The West County girls basketball team won their first district title since 2012 tonight as they beat down Arcadia Valley 61-32 on J-98. The Bulldogs may have come out on top in the end, but the start of the game was all Arcadia Valley as they raced out to a 7-0 lead.

The Tigers led after one quarter of action 12-9, but would see that dissipate in the second quarter as the Bulldogs came roaring back.

West County led at the half 28-21. In the second half, our Applebee’s of Farmington Player of the Game came to life.

Lilly James fought through a tweaked ankle to finish with 15 points on the night. McRaven led the Bulldogs with 19 while Gracee Smith paced the Tigers with 18. West County head coach Bobby Simily says this one is sweet.

Arcadia Valley finishes their season at 14-11. West County improves to 19-4 on the year and will play Lift for Life Academy in the Class 3 Sectional round on Wednesday.
