West County’s Simily named Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week

(Leadwood) West County Bulldogs junior Alivia Simily is the Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week.

Simily has made quite an impact during the high school girls’ basketball postseason.

Her layup with 2 seconds left proved to be the game-winner to knock off the Grandview Eagles in the Class 3 District 3 title game.

This Saturday, Simily poured in a game-high 16 points to help the Bulldogs make more history.

Simily lead West County to its first-ever trip to the Final 4 by beating Woodland 52-32 in the Class 3 state quarterfinals.

Head coach Bobby Simily says his message to his point guard is the same for his whole team: soak in the moment.

The Bulldogs will take on South Shelby in the state semifinals Thursday at noon on J98.

As Athlete of the Week, Simily receives a T-shirt, a certificate and a coupon for a free entree at Applebee’s in Farmington.
