Windsor taps McArthy to guide boys’ hoops program

(Windsor, Mo.) For the second straight season, the Windsor Owls will have a new boys’ basketball coach.

Windsor High School announced the hiring of Ryan McArthy last week.

McArthy is making a homecoming of sorts to the St. Louis area.

He graduated from Parkway South in 2012 and was a part of a district championship 2 years earlier.

McArthy says he caught up with a friend still part of high school hoops in Missouri when he found out about the Windsor job.

McArthy earned all-conference and all-district honors in his senior season at Parkway South before moving on to play at Christian Brothers College in Memphis, Tennessee.

He took a job coaching the junior varsity and freshman teams at Mumford High School in Memphis, and he says his time in the city showed him how to play basketball at the highest level.

McArthy says, while he’s always emphasized being strong on defense, he wants to build a complete team in Imperial.

Former Hillsboro assistant Jason Gillman took over the Windsor program last year but will be leaving to take over as athletic director at Herculaneum.

The Owls went 13-13 last season but will lose 5 players, including 4 starters, to graduation.
