Wyrick Returns to Potosi as New Head Football Coach

(Potosi, Mo.) Potosi High School brings home one of their own with the hiring of the school’s new head football coach.

A 2010 graduate of Potosi, Dylan Wyrick has been chosen to take over the Trojans’ football program.

He says once he heard about the opening, he threw his hat in the ring.

Wyrick served as an assistant with the Potosi football team for four years before leaving to become the head coach of the Salem Tigers in 2019.

In his lone season at the helm of the Salem football program this past year, he guided the Tigers to a 7-4 record which included a 30-20 victory over Osage in the opening round of the Class 3 District Tournament.

As a former All-State linebacker and running back for Potosi, Wyrick says it’s a dream come true to coach his alma matter.

Wyrick inherits a Potosi football team that is coming off its first winning season since 2014 with a 6-5 record last year.

He replaces Ed Haar who served as the Trojans’ head coach for three years and amassed an overall record of 14-18.

Wyrick tells Potosi fans that he’s going to give them everything he’s got.

Potosi football kicks off the 2020 season at home on August 28th against the Owensville Dutchmen.
