Festus Improves to 2-1 with 56-7 Win Over Windsor
(FESTUS)    The Festus Tigers were propelled by two Hayden Bates TD’s, two touchdowns from Avery Edwards and a “Pick 6” by Trey Lacey to beat the visiting Windsor Owls 56-7 Friday night.  The game was heard on KJFF 1400AM and mymoinfo.com
Bates got the Tigers on the scoreboard at the 6:33 mark in the first quarter with a three yard run.

At 2:49 in the first, Avery Edwards scored from 34 yards out, the extra point was good and that made the score 14-0 Festus.
Early in the second quarter Bates scored on a nine yard run, the kick by Luke Whacker made it 21-0.
With 2:44 in the second quarter, Leaunte Williams scored on a two yard carry to make it 28-0 Festus.
Before the end of the first half, Trey Lacey intercepted a pass and ran it back 60 yards for the “Pick Six”. That particular play was the “Festus Steak n Shake—“Shake Up” Play of the Game”.

Moments later, Landen Yates scored a TD on a three run carry to put the Tigers up 42-0 at halftime.
The Tigers got a TD to start the second half by Avery Edwards.  Nemo Ford then scored for the Tigers late in the third quarter to make the score 56-0.
Festus place kicker Luke Whacker was eight for eight in kicking extra points.
The Owls were able to get on the scoreboard with 5:25 left in the game on a five yard carry by Willie Coleman The Third.
Festus Head Coach A.J. Ofodile said in preparing the Tigers this week, he wanted them to bring a positive energy.

In commenting on Lacey’s “pick six”, Ofodile said Lacey has “bought in” to becoming an outstanding cornerback.

Owls Head Coach Jeff Funston was impressed by how hard his team played.

Festus is 2-1 while Windsor slips to 1-2.  Next week the Tigers play on the road against the (1-2) De Soto Dragons and the Owls will host Dubourg who has a record of (1-2).
